Project: Idea Box

Group Member Names: Justin Volk, Amy Karnaze, Katy St Sauveur

Goals and Expectations for the Project (What does each group member hope to get out of this project? What do we want to achieve as a team? How will we know that we're successful?):

We would all like to accomplish learning goals together. These include:

  • Working code, finished product at the end, professional skills.
  • Local storage, solidifying JS skills.
  • Teamwork, CSS and HTML development.

Team strengths & collaboration styles (consider discussing your Pairin qualities here):

  • Justin: Imaginative and inspirational, believes in others, willing to learn from mistakes, accomplishing goals
  • Amy: Intuitive and conceptual, pattern builder, clarifies underlying causes, internally energized, introspective, honest feedback and perspectives
  • Katy: Objective and analytical, introspective, calm, cool and collected, lover of moderation

How we can use our strengths to overcome obstacles:

We all have strengths in different areas, so we will all have different approaches to solving problems but may use those differences to arrive at the best solution.

Schedule Expectations (When are we available to work together and individually? What constraints do we have?):

Justin: Available, will let us know when he needs some time away. Amy: Available, maybe take Friday evening and Saturday morning off. Katy: Available, prefer to have a little break after class. Individual work late at night or early in the morning.

Communication Expectations (How and often will we communicate? How do we keep lines of communication open? How will we make decisions as a team?):

Cell phone numbers if Slack is unavailable. Communicating as much as possible.

Abilities & Growth Expectations (Technical strengths and areas for desired improvement):

Justin: Strong in HTML and CSS, would like to develop stronger JS skills. Amy: Would like to have growth across the board (HTML, CSS, JS). Katy: Comfortable with HTML and CSS, would like to gain speed with JS.

Workload Expectations (What features do we each want to work on?):

Work as much together as much as a team. Will have to review workload depending on project content. Planning on driver navigator often.

Workflow Expectations (Git workflow/Tools/Code Review/Reviewing Pull Requests/Debugging and Problem-solving Techniques):

Try to follow Turing Git workflow for teams. Pay attention to pull requests and pr template. Use debugger as needed and utilize console as much as possible.

Expectations for giving and receiving feedback:

Open communication, be respectful.

Project management tools we will use (GitHub projects or Trello are popular tools):

Trello as a project board.

Day 1 Agenda:

  • Create channel with all project members and assigned instructor
  • In that channel, add links to your forked repository and DTR
  • As a team, read through the spec and rubric CAREFULLY
  • Create an estimated, detailed timeline
  • PLAN out your HTML, CSS, and JS
