MERN stack is the name given to a set of JavaScript based technologies used in developing web applications. MERN is the acronym name given to the set of technologies including Mongo DB, Express JS, React JS/ Redux and Node JS.
In the next few lessons we will be developing the server-side web application for our MERN stack from the scratch.
Prerequisites
You should be comfortable with java script coding to follow along.

Welcome to the 2nd RStudio lab, in which we create an interactive map using two libraries. Shiny, which is an amazing library for prototyping interactive user interfaces in R and Leaflet which allows us to use OpenStreetMap data to create an interactive map. Shiny will use Leaflet as one of it’s UI components (like any other UI component like button, slider or text field).
For this exercise we need to install two packages - shiny and leaflet. To install the packages, copy, paste and execute the following command into the bottom left Console window.
When we combine domain expertise and scientific methods (Maths and Statistics) with technology (Python, R, other languages) we get Data Science. Data scientists collect data, clean the data, explore the data, analyze the data and visualize the data to find patterns. They apply mathematical and statistical models to make predictions and find solutions to problems.
What will a data scientist to:
Understand the problem with the help of a domain expert.
Understand with a case study:
For example a restaurant wants to increase it's price list. It has to increase in such a way that the customers will not stop coming to the place because of over pricing yet generate increased profit. Think of all the data that the data scientist can use. The data scientist will have to collect all the data which he thinks will help in addressing this issue. The relevance and irrelevance of data is done scientifically. So at the outset he/she just takes all the data available.
