DTR Elkins / Larson
Project: Rancid Tomatillos Project
Group Member Names: Greyson Elkins, Leigh Larson
Goals and Expectations for the Project (What does each group member hope to get out of this project? What do we want to achieve as a team? How will we know that we're successful?):
Demonstrate comprehension of React fundamentals and React router for multi-page user interface. Employ thorough testing and implement it early on the project. Complete project, aim for extension. Understanding of async/await. PR communication and small atomic commits. DRY and refactored.
Team strengths & collaboration styles (consider discussing your Pairin qualities here):
Leigh is pragmatic, approachable, flexible, hard work ethic. Independent but enjoys open communication.
Greyson is detail-oriented, hard work-ethic, anti-procrastinator, experimental.
Both have a knack for DRY code.
How we can use our strengths to overcome obstacles:
Be mindful of tone, but clear in message. Upfront, tactfully. Recognize it's about the team. Humility.
Schedule Expectations (When are we available to work together and individually? What constraints do we have? Make sure to discuss the remote questions above in regards to this section):
Available during school hours, likes to wrap up at 10ish.
Greyson unavailable Monday until 530.
Communication Expectations (How and often will we communicate? How do we keep lines of communication open? How will we make decisions as a team? How will we communicate about our emotional and mental well-being with each other?):
We'll be Slack calling/messaging daily, for multiple hours/ open availability. Update schedule changes ahead of time. Slack anytime. Paired or unpaired.
Abilities & Growth Expectations (Technical strengths and areas for desired improvement):
Leigh- Want to improve on thorough testing, deep dive into async/await. Strong on styling.
Greyson- Wants to improve SCSS implementation. Strong on testing.
Workload Expectations (What features do we each want to work on?):
Leigh - Wants to understand async/await, best at SCSS/design/UX/UI
Greyson- Needs to improve SCSS, log-in async/await, have fun with it. Be silly.
Workflow Expectations (Git workflow/Tools/Code Review/Reviewing Pull Requests/Debugging and Problem-solving Techniques):
Frequent small commits. Whole team understanding / exposure to code. Before commits, we do style / debugging review. Before final submission, we get an outsider's review on aesthetics and organization.
Pomodoro Break Schedule: Whenever. Flow is flow. Communicate when a break is needed.
Expectations for giving and receiving feedback:
On the spot. Open-minded, available. It's not personal. Assume positive intent first. Tactful. Frequent.
Additional Remote Considerations:
We both have shoddy internet connections! So fun.
Project management tools we will use (GitHub projects or Trello are popular tools):
Github projects! Streamlined. Multiple boards for styling, structure, behavior if possible.
Day 1 Agenda:
Set-up React app and download necessary dependencies (node-sass). Read through spec, rubric, and set-up README / PR template. Wireframe.
Additional Notes: excited to crush it!!!!!!
