A simple bash script to enable demo mode on a Marshmallow+ device via ADB (based on http://bit.ly/295BHLx)

Usage

$ demo on|off [hhmm]

Enable or disable the demo mode on a connected Android device or emulator. You can also pass in a custom value for the system clock in the HHMM format (only used when you use the on command).

⚠️ This script only works on *nix systems and has only been tested on macOS with Bash (but should be portable).

Animated Stroke. The google I/O website this year (https://google.com/io) has some funky animated lettering. Android has a dedicated XML namespace intended for tools to be able to record information in XML files, and have that information stripped when the application is packaged such that there is no runtime or download size penalty. The namespace URI is http://schemas.android.com/tools and is usually bound to the tools: prefix:
