- go to System Settings -> Data Management -> Nintendo 3DS -> Downloadable Content and delete all related updates, then reinstall updates and launch
- If not fixed, also delete the DLCs from the same settings, then redownload DLCs and launch
If still not fixed follow one of the two sections below depending on your game's type

- If cartinstall worked:
- Transfer the save file from your cartridge to digital using this guide
- Launch the game
- Did it work?
- If so, this is how you will play the game from now on
- If it did not work, then the issue is your save file, and your only choice is to delete your save and start all over again. You can go back to using your cartridge, it is not broken
- If cartinstall did not work, then your cartridge is broken.
- you can try the cartridge fix.
- If it fixes it, I still don't recommend using the cartridge, it is still unreliable.
- Immediately install the game to your SD card by following this guide, transfer your save to digital title using this guide, and just play that way. Be grateful that you're still able to play the game.
- if not fixed, go make a save backup in Checkpoint, then go to System Settings -> Data Management -> Nintendo 3DS -> Software, delete the game, then reinstall game via eShop or cartinstall and launch
- if by this point your game is not fixed, then the issue is your save file, and your only choice is to delete your save and start all over again.
if the cartridge ends up broken make sure not to throw it away or anything as you need that cartridge to be able to use the dump legally
