For those who want to explore what Scala compiler is desugaring for constructs to, try out the -Xprint:typer flag that you can pass to scala REPL. Here is an example:

~ ─╼ scala -Xprint:typer                                                                                                     0
Welcome to Scala 2.12.7-20181024-221954-unknown (OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM, Java 11.0.1-testing).
Type in expressions for evaluation. Or try :help.

scala> for (i <- 1 to 3 if i > 2) println(i)
...
private[this] val res1: Unit = scala.Predef.intWrapper(1).to(3).withFilter(((i: Int) => i.>(2))).foreach[Unit](((i: Int) => scala.Predef.println(i)));
...

I have elided most of the verbose output here, because it also prints some implementation details of the REPL itself.
