Amazon Linux AMI with Node/NPM and Nginx

Installation

1. Create a Amazon Linux AMI instance on AWS/EC2

2. Connect to your instance with SSH

3. Update your instance:

sudo yum update

4. Install Nginx and Git

sudo yum install -y nginx git

5. Install NPM (Node)

sudo yum install -y --enablerepo=epel npm

6. (Optionally) Install Forever

If you want your application to run continuously, even it’s terminated or crahsed for some reasons, (forever)[https://github.com/nodejitsu/forever] is a good utility—there are many others out there.

sudo npm install -g forever
