Example of a custom upcoming events widget that includes the city and state/province

Login to your WordPress dashboard (WP-admin) and go to Plugins. Next, click on Add New --> Upload and browse to the plugin on your computer. Then select the zip file and begin the upload process. Wait for the plugin to upload and then click on Activate.

You can then go to Appearance --> Menus. Look for the custom widget and then drag it to your preferred sidebar and save changes. Be sure to move the existing default upcoming events widget to the inactive widgets area. Otherwise, you'll see duplicate widgets appearing.
