The files look to be mainly csv files.

http://cdn.gea.esac.esa.int/Gaia/gdr2/gaia_source/csv/ has many files.

pmra -> 'proper motion in right ascension'

https://gea.esac.esa.int/archive/documentation/GDR2/Gaia_archive/chap_datamodel/sec_dm_main_tables/ssec_dm_gaia_source.html

Does distance have to be calculated from parallax, or is it in there?

Hey did you ever find an answer? Any chance you have RA, DEC, est_dist from Gaia data already?

I think this is it:

https://lco.global/spacebook/distance/parallax-and-distance-measurement/

Distance parsecs = 1.0 / (parallax / 1000.0)

The parallax in the data is described as angle[mas] which I'm sure is milli-arc-seconds.

The right ascension and declination is right there in the table.
