#Black Thursday Project Retro
###A. What was an opportunity for improvement in your group?
We should have kept going and pushed through an extension or added iteration 5 because we had time. OR we should have
taken a break after we were done on Monday to relax.
### B. What was your role?
I was the main driver for the concepts and did most of the coding in the way I work best which is to try a lot of different things in rapid succession.
This method works great for me independently, but is very hard to follow for my pair. Communication in this regard is certainly something
I want to improve upon.
###C. What was your partner's role?
Drew was fantastic at making sure all of the details were taken care of. He set up the rakefile and spec harness and basically ran
them continuously to check our progress. He also tirelessly refactored our code and seemed to take pleasure in shortening our methods
and making clear, concise code. He also took a relaxed and steady approch to our work, while also adhering closely to our DTR
schedule and putting in the time needed to get us to complete the project early. I thought our group was particularly efficent and effective
and his attitude was absolutely key in that success.
###D. How could you have improved the dynamic?
I know I need to work on being more patient. It was something I definitely struggled with in my previous job, and I have been
working on some strategies to do so. More frequent breaks, and more self awareness about when I am starting to get frustrated
will help me stay calm and patient while working through a project with my partner. I also need to listen more, and learn
from my partner throughout the process. I definitely recognise the value of teaching others to further my own understanding
and I need to remind myself of that sometimes. Also, this time spent working with my classmates is an excellent investment.
