React Router Prework

This gist contains a short assignment I'd like everyone to complete before our formal lesson. The prework involves reading some of the React Router documentation, and will allow us to keep the lesson more hands on.

Instructions

  1. Fork this gist
  2. On your own copy, go through the listed readings and answer associated questions
  3. Comment a link to your forked copy on the original gist

Questions / Readings

Below I'm going to break down each question's answers into brief bullet points describing what I've learned to be essential thus far.

  • What is a "framework?" And how does it differ from a "library?"
    • Framework:
      • A framework is a reusable design or architecture which runs in a particular flow and executes the code you wrote with it.
      • Normally defines a skeleton where the application defines its own features that fill out the skeleton.
      • Has libraries preinstalled and can dictate which is better suited.
      • Calls your code
      • Can use multiple libraries or languages in it
  • Fast development

SMART Goal

Specific:

  • What do you want to accomplish?
    • Attend virtual meetups
  • Who needs to be included?
    • Me and anyone else participating in the meetups
  • Why is this a goal?
    1. Virtual meetings, interviews, (etc.) have always triggered my social anxiety and I'd like to practice overcoming that uncomfortable feeling
  1. Meetups in general intimidate me because of the pressure of why I'm there - to make connections for a future job
