Serverless Days Amsterdam Conference Script

This document contains the script for the online ServerlessDays Amsterdam Conferene. We're using a combination of OBS, Skype & NDI Tools to combine our streams. Streaming is done to Restream.io which in turn forwards it to YouTube, Twitch and Periscope.

Roles

The lines in the script are prefixed with the role of the person who needs to undertake an action.

• TECH = The person who's controlling OBS
• MCs = Masters of Ceremony
• PANEL = Member of the panel discussion
• SP = Speaker

Rules

• Speakers, panelists & MCs must mute themselves when they are not presenting.
• Speakers, panelists, MCs & Tech communicate through Skype chat in the group call during live streaming for anything urgent.

Timeline

1 week before event

• TECH: Setup live event in YouTube so link can be used on website and social channels.
• TECH: Update stream title on Twitch
• TECH: Check Restream connections

1 day before go live

• TECH: Start group call with MCs and Panel members
• TECH: Set NDI sources for webcam feeds MCs & Panel members
• TECH: Set names in OBS for
  • First two MCs
  • First speaker
  • Panel members
• TECH: Set sources for prerecorded talks

30 mins before go live (8:30)

• TECH: Start Skype group call
• TECH: Set NDI sources in OBS for Webcams & screen sharing
  • MCs
  • Speaker 1(A)
• TECH: Check count-down is 10 mins in OBS
• Transition to Start scene
• TECH: Mute own Skype

10 mins before go live (8:50)

• TECH: Start Streaming in OBS & start 10 min count-down
• TECH: verify that stream is working on all channels

9:00 Go live (+/- 15 min)

• TECH: Start recording
• TECH: Transition to MCs scene
• TECH: Monitors if audio is working
• MCs: Word of welcome
• TECH: Transition to MCs + Screen scene
• MCs: Slides with
  • CoC
  • Sponsor shout-outs
  • Agenda

9:15 Session 1 (+/- 30 mins)

• TECH: Transition to MC + Speaker A scene
• MCs: Introduces keynote speaker 1
• TECH: Transition to Recorded session A scene
• MCs & SP: Captures questions/comments which will be used in Q&A session
• TECH: Set break timer to 5 minutes

9:45 Session 1 Q&A (+/- 5 mins)

• TECH: Transition to MC + Speaker A scene
• MCs & SP: Discussion & answering questions

9:50 Break (5 mins)

• TECH: Remove speaker 1 from Skype call

12:15 Lunch break (30 mins)

• TECH: Transition to Break scene and start 30 min timer
• TECH: Remove speaker Panel members from Skype call
• PANEL: Continue on discord
• TECH: Add speakers 5(A), 6(B) & 7(C) to Skype call
• TECH: Set NDI sources in OBS for Speaker A, B & C webcams

12:45 Session 5 (+/- 10 mins)

• TECH: Transition to MC + Speaker A scene
• MCs: Introduces speaker 5
• TECH: Transition to Recorded session A scene
• MCs & SP: Captures questions/comments which will be used in Q&A session
