marcus: is it me that stands between you and hide join/part messages?

i can't decide if it's a good idea or not... i mean, why don't you want to see part/join? on the other hand, we don't save the messages so i guess they are kind of pointless...

what about if we timeout the messages? like only have the elements visible for let's say 1 minute before removing them from the conversation list?
13. Sep 11:54 | |
they disappear anyway if you refresh the window, so i guess there's no reason to keep them around

batman: I was using /ignore to get rid of them when I was using irssi.

batman: maybe a subtle highlight in the sidebar instead of showing them?
13. Sep 12:57 | |
Like a simple yellow fade when someone has just joined, and red when they part/quit

I guess this comes back to the 'too much color' issue ;)

i'm not paying much attention to the sidebar, also a new nick might be ZZZ, which is then rendered outside the viewpoint if there's a channel with a lot of users
13. Sep 12:59 | |
"if the channel has a lot of participants"
13. Sep 13:00 | |
but maybe the solution is simply not showing the information at all..?
13. Sep 13:00 | |
for me it's either "remove the messages" or "test with fadeout after x seconds"

sidebar sounds like to much programming |
