NEMESIS Progress — April 9, 2026

TL;DR

• The trading bot was paralyzed when I started today. It hadn't opened a new trade in 10+ hours and didn't even know it was broken. By the end of the session it was trading again within 60 seconds of the fix.
• Root cause was that the bot was being given contradicting instructions about what to optimize for — six different files telling it different things, some of them years out of date. I cut that down to one clear job description and rewired the AI brain to actually read it.
• We're still in stage 1 of the path to real-money trading. Stage 1 is about collecting honest data, not making money. The system was failing at stage 1 because it kept trying to optimize for stage 3 (capital safety) on fake money. That's fixed now.
