- Leading 5 person front end team (prior to being promoted to Technical Director)
Selected work:
- Mazda Australia - Lead Front End Engineer for Mazda Digital Platform. We rebuilt the Mazda platform from the ground up for the Australian market. Using global style guides, I led a team of 5 front end developers in a full isomorphic React app powered by Episerver/.NET. ES6, React, Redux, Radium.
- Snickers Hungerithm - Lead Engineer and Solution Design. A national Australian campaign where customers could redeem a unique barcode for a cheap Snickers bar. The price was dynamically calculated by 'anger levels' of twitter. Built with Node, ES6, CSS3, MySQL, Socket.io -- and leveraged machine learning to analyse tweets in polarity.
Hungerithm was awarded 21 Cannes Lions, 1 D&AD Wood Pencil, among a slew of other awards.
Malt Creative is a small design studio located in Collingwood. I worked with a team of 5 developing bespoke website solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Developing bespoke Wordpress and Shopify themes for a variety of clients.
- Focused on HTML5, ES5 javascript, Sass.
Selected work:
- Willis Insurance - 3rd largest insurance company globally. We were hired to prototype of an internal tool. I lead the development including solution architecting. We delivered an end-to-end functional prototype which was highly regarded internally, and the project was 'green-lit' to enter production. Angular, Node, Express, Mongo.
- Chikhi - online retail site for children's clothing, owned and operated by Natalie Bassingthwaite.
- Heatbeads - online retails site for Heatbeads (grilling company)
