How I like to work.

What I do

I joined Human Made in January 2022 as a Web Engineer. I tinker with PHP, JS, SCSS, well anything related to the web really.

When I work

  • My timezone is UK Time, either GMT or GMT+1 depending if it’s BST or not.
  • I work around the school run, which means I am usually out of the office between 8:30 and 9:00 and 15:15 and 15:45
  • I can be available after hours, usually after 8pm, and I don't mind putting a few hours in at the weekends when needed

Where I work

  • I usually can be found in my home office, but will occasionally visit a coffee shop, or co-working space
  • I'm mostly alone when I work, but during school holidays there may be minor interuptions from a small child

Communication

  • The best way to contact me is by pinging my @ on slack, I will have notifications off for other things
  • I tend to schedule blocks of time to check Slack and read emails, so asynchronous comunication is preferred, but I don't mind the interuption if you need me urgently
  • I usually have my notifications off after 17:00

Things I struggle with

  • I am an introvert, so I often appear quiet and reserved, unless you get me chatting about something I am passionate about

Other things to know about me

  • I don’t drink caffeine or alcohol, but I will drink caffeine-free coffee or alcohol-free beer
