OK... so as a GIS guy I am not sure I see schema? I guess what I don't understand is are we mapping singular locations? Are we mapping polygons? Are we mapping something else. I guess what I am getting at here is what is the expectation? Is there one?

This list isn't necessarily map based. Tight now it is just a bunch of top level unique categories. If we can try to encompass a majority of the different 'types' of civic data in this list then we can move forward by getting into more specific data types and mapping information.

So, the idea of this list is to catagorize every possible civic object?

Yep! The hard part is balancing how high level versus how specific the categories will be, e.g. traffic_calming is a high level category that encompasses all of the different types of speedbumps, raised sidewalks and other things: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic_calming
