This is the Terminal output. It only tells me that the bug is triggered by message 974599.eml. Could you share that as well?

there you go - and btw. running mdimport on this .eml directly segments fault instantly.

It didn't crash for me. Could you try sending it via “Forward as Attachment” or, even better, zip it and then send it.
