This document is a proposal to unify the architecture of the IG Headlamp plugin with other IG based UIs and provides the motivation to do so. It is not a technical design doc, but rather a strategic case for why this unification is necessary and beneficial. The goal is to align on a shared foundation for the UIs.
Before making the case, it helps to be precise about what already exists.
