− Go Over BEFORE first shift

  o Signing into book; 4 shifts per month, 6-month probation, parking passes

  o Enrolling in EMT school & explaining drivers Training (12 shifts,drivers abstract)
  o Accessing SOGs & bylaws
  o Explain the different radios & dispatching
− On scene expectations
  o Explain what to bring on each call
  o Show how to input patient demographics
  o Show how to register patients at hospitals
  o Give general scene safety tips
    - Not getting too close to patient, 
    - not kneeling below patients, 
    - hands out of pockets, early signs of a combative patient, how to deal with EDPS, stand back after giving Narcan
  o Familiarity & use of moving devices such as stair chair, reeves, scoop
  o Holding c-spine
  o Running a code
  o NOT INTERUPTING OR JUMPING IN ON PATIENT CARE
  o BLS vs ALS 
− Geography: Projects, waterfront, HPD HQ, Stevens, Shelter, Lackawanna, bar scene, Transit HQ
  o How the street map works ex: 200 Garden is at 2nd& Garden
  o Explain the different hospitals
− Building:
  o Keep garage door closed
  o Show kitchen, bathrooms, bunks, classroom
  o Cleaning up after yourself & taking out garbage
  o Explain the board in the garage
