Digital Humanities Project 1-Pager Template

Template for a DH project one-pager

A template for a “1 pager” or short description of a digital humanities project. Based on the case study descriptions from the book Digital_Humanities.

Title & Abstract

  • Main title & subtitle
  • 2 to 3 sentence abstract

Introduction (3-5 paragraphs)

  • Introduce the problem area.
  • Why engage problem now? "With X, we can now know…"
  • Articulate research questions. "This projects takes up the question…"
  • Discuss data / domain of interest. "This project focuses on…"
  • Articulate what will be done with the data & possible insights. "We will analyze…"

Methods (1 - n paragraphs)

  • Introduce specific research method(s).
  • Identify technical and conceptual challenges to method(s).

Work Plan (list)

  • Bulleted list of each step in the project

Dissemination and Participation (1 paragraph)

  • Articulate deliverables and community engagement strategy.

Assessment (1 paragraph)

  • Articulate what aspects will be evaluated, how results will be validated and/or metrics of success.
