I cut the windows out of soda bottles made of pet plastic.
- Cut the ends off of a soda bottle
- And remove the wrapper
- Place a container into the bottle that can be heated
- This is about how much slack I have, don't worry the plastic will shrink
- Place in an oven set to 210° fahrenheit or 98° Ceslius for about 6 minutes
- The point isn't to melt the plastic but to get it close to it's glass transition temperature
- When taken out of the oven I use a box cutter to remove the stuck on wrapper bits
- Pet plastic is a thermoplastic and will shrink when heated.
- Had the greebles directly embedded into the dome.
