Windows

I cut the windows out of soda bottles made of pet plastic.

Making Windows From Soda Bottles

  • Cut the ends off of a soda bottle
  • And remove the wrapper 37
  • Place a container into the bottle that can be heated 38
  • This is about how much slack I have, don't worry the plastic will shrink 39
  • Place in an oven set to 210° fahrenheit or 98° Ceslius for about 6 minutes 41
  • The point isn't to melt the plastic but to get it close to it's glass transition temperature
  • When taken out of the oven I use a box cutter to remove the stuck on wrapper bits 40
  • Pet plastic is a thermoplastic and will shrink when heated. 42

  • Had the greebles directly embedded into the dome.
