(C-x means ctrl+x, M-x means alt+x)
The default prefix is C-b. If you (or your muscle memory) prefer C-a, you need to add this to ~/.tmux.conf
:
Create a new repository, or reuse an existing one.
Generate a new SSH key:
ssh-keygen -t rsa -C "your_email@example.com"
Copy the contents of the file ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub
to your SSH keys in your GitHub account settings (https://github.com/settings/keys).
Test SSH key:
First we'll update your local master
branch. Go to your local project and check out the branch you want to merge into (your local master
branch)
$ git checkout master
Fetch the remote, bringing the branches and their commits from the remote repository.
You can use the -p
, --prune
option to delete any remote-tracking references that no longer exist in the remote. Commits to master
will be stored in a local branch, remotes/origin/master
.
