Updating your main email in Gerrit

You need to add your new email to sites using the Ubuntu One OpenID provider first.

This could greatly simplify the transition as those sites might be able to associate your new email (OpenID Identity) to your existing account, avoiding duplicates.

1. Add your new email to Gerrit

You can change your main email

2. Add your new email to Launchpad

You can change your main email

3. Add your new email to Ubuntu One

  • Login to Ubuntu One
  • Go to "Personal details" section and click on "Manage email addresses"
  • Add your email in the "Add email address" subsection and click on "Add address"
  • Validate your email address by email
  • Until confirmed, your email won't appear in the "Preferred email address" dropdown

You can change your main email

IMPORTANT

This will change the email address used when logging to other sites as explained by the tooltip:

This email address is passed on to other sites when requested as part of the login process.

Other sites might require you to add and update your email prior to change it here on Ubuntu One.

See "Sites you last authenticated to" subsection once logged on "Ubuntu One" in the "Personal details" section.

  • Login to Ubuntu One
  • Go to "Personal details" section
  • Update "Preferred email address" with your new email
  • Save changes

4. Confirm email change in Gerrit
