Test environment: LAN
UDP: Don't know, Disable UDP Acceleration is not selected
VPN Server: Intel Core i5-9400F
Samba Server: Intel Celeron N4500
Client: Intel Xeon E3-1231v3

No SSL / Compression on both side

No SSL / Compression only Samba to VPN Server

No SSL / Compression only VPN Server to Client

No SSL / No Compression

SSL / No Compression

No VPN (Direct connection between Samba and Client)

Conclusion: In LAN environment, connect Samba and Client as direct as possible.
Add VPN Compression won't increase performance if router total bandwidth is limited.
