  • List your cut-off date for having a full-time position

  • June 1, 2019

  • List monthly, weekly, and daily goals

  • Monthly Goals: 4 to 6 applications, 1 to 2 coffee meetings, at least half of the days green on GitHub

  • Weekly Goals: One to two well thought out, well researched applications sent to potential employers

  • Daily Goals: Follow the plan. Not every day is a job day, but everything i do is valuable to the process

  • Create "daily_practice" repo and describe to instructor(s) what you plan to practice

  • Daily practice will include the React Native app i want to build, code wars style challenges, work on contract site

  • List 3 people you will reach out to. Describe to instructor(s) why you'll reach out, when you'll email them by, what you hope to talk about, and what follow-up will look like

  • All of 1711, my mentor, the lead developer i met from flowhub.

  • Email 1 per week in the first three weeks

  • i hope to talk about job advice, any suggestions they might have on my resume/github/linkedin, if they've heard of any opportunities for jr. engineers

  • List 3 meetups you'll attend and describe to instructor(s) why you'll attend them

  • Denver Modern Web, March 6 - React Hooks!

  • BuiltIn at ProLogis, March 14 - Networking

  • Denver Happy Hour, March 12 - Networking

  • List the job search tracking system you're using and describe to instructor(s) why you're using it/how it will help you

  • huntr - i like that i can save a job listing as i see it, so that i don't have to worry about pouncing on it at the moment i see it. the whole system allows me to time box and prioritize what i need to work on.

  • List 2-3 areas you'd like to continue to improve on for interviewing and outline concrete action steps on how you will improve those skills to describe to instructor(s)

  • i want to continue working on tech related interview questions like wheel of jeopardy, and also the code wars style code challenges where i have a tendency to lock up under pressure. my plan is all about reps - using a challege as a warm up to other coding or just focusing on one or two challenges before breaking off and doing job work or something else

  • Turing portfolio is updated with 3 projects

  • Summary of how you've updated your LinkedIn profile

  • i went through and made updates based on the session we had with the person from outside Turing, including more description of my previous experience, a little more in my bio about who i am other than a developer, and added a couple of school projects.

  • List additional area you'll focus on in your job search and describe why to instructor(s)

  • i need to continue to work on my professional story and my anecdotes for interviews

  • List 1-2 people you'll check in with during job search

  • all of 1711, my brother, probably Loryn and Derek, as well as Justin

  • List 1-2 "barriers" and describe how you will overcome them to your instructor(s)

  • My biggest barriers have to do with social awkwardness and procrastination. The best thing i can do for these issues is to have a schedule and a plan that is time specific, but allows for flexibility in specific. i also like Brittany's idea about seeing what gets put off to the end of the week, every week.
