How Substantial keeps things going smoothly [outline]
Organizational Tools:
* Trello for prioritizing the most important thing to be working on next
(typically divided into backlog, doing, review and done columns)
* Github pull requests before merging code to master
(not just programmers: artists and other interested parties have a say too)
Regular Meetings:
* Morning team standups
* Weekly team retrospectives (what went well, what went poorly, how can we improve?)
* Monthly hour-long 1-on-1s with each employee and their boss
* Monthly hour-long 1-on-1s with each employee and their boss's boss
* Quarterly company meetings where the CEO goes over financials and other big picture stuff.
* Regular monday all-hands standup where we introduce new employees, talk about incoming leads,
celebrate milestones reached, etc.
We didn't start with all these meetings, they just sort of evolved over time from feedback
collected in weekly team retrospectives and 1-on-1s (which were yearly back in the day.)
