General rules, KISS:

  • Figure out where you are.
  • Spend the proper time that it takes to get it.
  • Focus on your proper form.
  • Get it :-)

Practice:

  • Start with 5 to 10 seconds x 6 sets.
  • Once comfortable with 5-10 seconds hold, add 5 seconds per set.
  • Work up to holding this for 1 minute per set.
  • use this rule for every level (exercise in the progression).

Progression

  1. Prepare and strengthen your wrists
    • Fingers forward
    • Fingers backward
    • Palms up, fingers backward
  2. Hollow body position
    • Legs bent
    • Legs straight
    • Legs straight and extended
    • Arms extended
  3. Facing the wall
  4. Facing away from the wall
  5. L-Handstand using a wall
