It's working! Tested on Redmi Note 9S. Thank you!
How to add this fix to kernel?
@Nezion I've updated instructions should be easy to understand.
@Vladimirbal18 I'm not sure though you could make changes of configfs and usb_gadget in kernel src.
@mmtrt This also work like USM (USB mass storage)?
@qumu-cell no it just add lun for mass storage and changes usb state to cdrom for drive droid.
@Billar42 about what?
@mmtrt im using rn8 pro everytime i reboot my phone i need to input all the codes so my pc can read my phone again
@Nezion if you want to run drivedroid again just last step run. If not then do nothing 😉.
@mmtrt how can i remove it so there is no hassle when im connecting my phone on my pc?
@Nezion should work normally after reboot.
I think this is destiny, finaly found this gems 👍
All work on my begonia
Is it supposed to work on others devices or only with begonia?
Could work on other devices.
Works on Redmi Note 9 on MIUI 12.5 with Android 11, thanks a ton
hello can you help i dont know what to do after installing termux i have redmi not 8 pro android 11
Tried this on poco x3 pro running crDroid 7 (Android 11) and it kept connecting/disconnecting and thus ended up not working
Not working on Android 12 crdroid v8.7 on Poco m2 pro.
The device gets detected in ventoy but says storage space 0
And df command in terminal the device doesn't show up
@Xeunyx-Cypher works fine here, if you use blank disk make sure use fat format when creating it.
Finally I was able to boot Linux ISO from it just by changing the BIOS boot order.
But couldn't install the windows 10 as it was asking for no media file/Device found. I couldn't see my harddrive or SSD from that.
@Xeunyx-Cypher same issue here, my hard drive doesn't show. Linux distros works like a charm.
@mmtrt Ty for this, working fine on my Motorola One Macro Android 10.
@Xeunyx-Cypher use windows iso directly and use cdrom on dd for it.
@mmtrt I was indeed using the direct windows ISO file with writeable USB Mass Storage option. Guess I'd need to try out the CD-ROM option later!
**One thing is when selecting boot order from BIOS. I saw two options regarding "Linux Stor...." One was saying UEFI and the other wasn't. I selected the UEFI option. Did I select the wrong option?
Btw is the script running all time in background till I reboot my phone? Won't it effect the battery backup then? Should I reboot my phone every time after my work is finished to stop the script running continuously?
@Xeunyx-Cypher it depends whether you use UEFI only for your installs on system if not then don't use that.
No need to reboot its needed only for first time install of script.
Script doesn't cause that much battery drain tbh if you really want to stop then remove the script & reboot phone.
@mmtrt Windows 10 ISO file gives this error: No device drivers were found. Still this error after choosing CD-ROM option to host
@Xeunyx-Cypher ah classic cdrom error, so use blank disk & flash iso with rufus.
It worked fine for me I install windows 11 iso directly on laptop.
Actual version of script not working, but this works
#!/data/data/com.termux/files/usr/bin/bash
setprop sys.usb.config cdrom
setprop sys.usb.configfs 1
getprop sys.usb.config >/config/usb_gadget/g1/configs/b.1/strings/0x409/configuration
rm /config/usb_gadget/g1/configs/b.1/f* &>/dev/null
mkdir -p /config/usb_gadget/g1/functions/mass_storage.0/lun.0/
touch /config/usb_gadget/g1/functions/mass_storage.0/lun.0/file
echo $1 >/config/usb_gadget/g1/functions/mass_storage.0/lun.0/file
ln -s /config/usb_gadget/g1/functions/mass_storage.0 /config/usb_gadget/g1/configs/b.1/f99
getprop sys.usb.controller >/config/usb_gadget/g1/UDC
setprop sys.usb.state cdrom
Pixel Expirience android 12 - Xiaomi Mi note 10 lite.
Could you help me please?
Thank you very much, @mmtrt
Your script works without issue on my begonia, a11 for around a year <3
About the battery drain - this onboot script create a kernel wakelock, named "usb". The issue that I found so far is the big awake time, but the overall drain is very minimal.
Wish you a wonderful 2023!
thank you very much for that fix, even works on android 13. is there a way to modify the script to use it for usb mass storage? i can only get it to show up as a cdrom.
I have rewritten this script to support pixel 7 pro. Link to fork.
Could someone review this to be sure?
@barsikus007 looks good though we could add check for both functions so it could work with exist change and pixel one if one of each exists.

I impemented function appending, and script is probably should work for both types of function names
How its looks like when you have all modes (adb also available)
just gonna add my 2cents from the recent week aswell, cause this script seems to evolve.
- there is a really nice detection function for the usb_gadget folders in the gitrep for the usb-gadget app by tejado.
see line 64 here for the code: https://github.com/tejado/android-usb-gadget/blob/master/app/src/main/java/net/tjado/usbgadget/GadgetShellApi.kt#L64
maybe someone can work that in, cause the config-path seems to be different for many devices and versions. - yes, you can just stack the usb-modes. just leave the existing configuration with f1/function1 and create a new f2/function2 and bind the desired usb-mode to this function.
- some devices (like mine) need a "reconnect" of the usb-gadget controller once a new mode has been added. tejados usb-gadget-app did this very well too: just clear the usb-gadget controller with
echo "" > /config/usb_gadget/g1//UDC
then add the modes and reattach it withgetprop sys.usb.controller > /config/usb_gadget/g1//UDC
because all that stuff is still cached in the sysprop. - here is the official documentation for the android usb-gadget in configfs: https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/msm/+/android-msm-marlin-3.18-nougat-dr1/Documentation/usb/gadget_configfs.txt not very deep but gives a good overview over all options and possibilities.
- iam not experienced in programming an app myself but i dont think it should be that hard to just make an successor to drivedroid (or even decompile the code). all it would need is to mount the image-file to the in/outputs of the usb-module. well thats easy to say but according to this comment-section, someone could make a few bucks on the playstore.
- use macrodroid to create a macro that will kill the app once its closed. then the script will automatically restore the normal usb-function without force stopping the app every time. most of you probably already figured that out.
Does it solve this problem?
Yes. I also had this problem on my sm-a137f. Just install this

anyone have any script or fix for driverdroid on my samsung a30?
Use it with that script, and remember to replace all 'mass_storage.0' to 'mass_storage.usb0' in that script.
ai có tập lệnh hoặc bản sửa lỗi nào cho driverdroid trên samsung a30 của tôi không?

There is a way: Download Termux, then run commands follow one by one.
wget https://gist.github.com/mmtrt/5dfbd2559ea988dfbe56277347ac6c96/raw/478204e0d0107f14ec0af3e0d4b4774e6f598838/fixdd
chmod 0755 ./fixdd
su -c ./fixdd
Open the app.
Hey, is this fixed yet
Not yet, bro, there are three commands, you need to exec it line by line..
Này, cái này đã sửa chưa
Chưa đâu bác, có 3 câu lệnh, phải thực hiện từng dòng một..
so can you tell me not to give the full order

Galaxy S9 - Android 13
Oh, guys, stop talking this, just see what you have in your phone's dir /config/usb_gadget/g1/functions, if there is mass_storage.0, then use the script above, and if there is mass_storage.usb0 instead, just do this.
Or you have anything else, just edit the droid apk yourself.
Worked on Samsung A03 Core (crDroid GSI ROM, Android 13)
I booted Archlinux with it :D
Can anybody tell me how to do this? Sorry im just new here please explain me by steps 😔
