Better local require() paths for Node.js

Better local require() paths for Node.js

Problem

When the directory structure of your Node.js application (not library!) has some depth, you end up with a lot of annoying relative paths in your require calls like:

const Article = require('../../../../app/models/article');

Those suck for maintenance and they're ugly.

Possible solutions

Add watermark with Node.js and ffmpeg
var ffmpeg = require('ffmpeg');
try {
var process = new ffmpeg('example.mp4');
process.then(function (video) {
console.log('The video is ready to be processed');
var watermarkPath = 'watermark-suissa.png',
newFilepath = './video-com-watermark.mp4',
settings = {
position : "SE" // Position: NE NC NW SE SC SW C CE CW

Create a jpg image from ArrayBuffer data
// Simulate a call to Dropbox or other service that can
// return an image as an ArrayBuffer.
var xhr = new XMLHttpRequest();
// Use JSFiddle logo as a sample image to avoid complicating
// this example with cross-domain issues.
xhr.open( "GET", "http://fiddle.jshell.net/img/logo.png", true );
// Ask for the result as an ArrayBuffer.
xhr.responseType = "arraybuffer";

Setting proxy with node.js

Node.js behind a proxy

Write proxy settings

$ npm config set proxy http://localhost:3128
$ npm config set https-proxy http://localhost:3128

This config is great for SquidMan app.
