Word List 2014

This is a list of words.

The following words are not included, because they are not words: TWL, OSPD, OSPD5, OWL3, OTCWL2014, or OTCWL. OWL is a word, but is also not in this list.

The resulting word list is suitable for loading into Zyzzyva or Zarf.

Generating

You will need to have an old list of words, and name it 'word_list-pre_2014.tsv'

Then run rake generate.

This will

  • download some additional words (rake fetch)
  • dump just the text of the words (rake dump)
  • patch that to correct some typos (rake extract)
  • parse the result, expanding each base word into all its inflected forms (rake extract)
  • merge the added words with the old words (rake generate)
