Installing Photostructure

nice animation

OK I get quite some options to choose from, but they seem to make sense. I just realized that I'm on a newly installed PC so no Pictures on the hard disk let's see if Photostructure can work with UNC paths.

Oh, I just pressed Enter because I thought it would go into the UNC path now. Seems like Enter means I'm done with my settings.

Lets see if this arrow brings me back to the wizard 👍 good to easy get back.

OK it explains how you get more information. I loved the hover trick, not sure yet how I think about the jump to a browser window

UNC Path seems to work, that I forgot my password isn't Photostructures bad :)

Only one folder to start with

I have no idea where this link leads to. So I'm not clicking it, don't want to change windows again.

Exactly what I want and need. Deduplication and copying every- thing in one place 👍

My library directory... what does that mean. Does it mean that the time stamped folders are created directly in Pictures mixing with the pictures that are already there (not at the moment) but you know, on another pc :)

Lets use a subfolder

Usually I only partially read those agreements, but looking at the scrollbar there is not much to read. 👍

What information is stored in the log messags. Now I wish there would be a link to explain a bit more.

Now that I know I can press Enter I'll just try

Doesn't work :(

Import of Pictures doesn'T work either. What happened?

There are pictures in the folder

Let's copy some pictures locally and try again.

BTW pressing enter in the photos and videos path saved again. Not very intuitive.

My network connection seems to be very slow, I'll just start and see what happens. Photostructure deduplicates so no worries importing again :)

Ah seems to find something good. Oh even a preview, I like this

Its automatically taggin the pictures. Great.

Photos got imported what now? Click on the logo doesn't change the view. Ah I see I'm already in the main window. As I'm not seeing any menu I thought I'm still in the wizard.

Now I clicked several times on the arrow and I'm back to the "wizard" which is called settings. I'm a bit confused.

Is this really the main screen? How can I access the settings without going back several times.

Ah, clicking a photo gets me into a different view.

The info button is recognized easily and I agree that my laptop resolution is not perfect but I should be able to see all infos, or at least have a scroll bar. So I have to click into the text field and move around with the arrows on my keyboard.

Click activates a magnifying glass just discovered a feature by accident :)

Why are there two ways to rotate the image? one behind another button. Seems to do the same.

right click does nothing.

To easy navigate I can use the arrows.

But I still see no way to go into the settings easily. time to read the manual.

Glad I clicked on the link earlier and already have the getting started guide open.

Installation instructions are very basic

Aaaaah the hint about closing the window doesn't close Photostructure gave me the right way to follow. The icon in the system tray is your entry point to settings heaven.

Settings are the same so not much to configure. But thats something good in my eyes.

I clicked the "Send us your recent logs" because I hoped to maybe see the logs, answering my question about the logs from above. But nothing seemed to happen. Did it send?

Let's look into this later.

I should end the installation video now and read some of the documentation. One question I have right now How to create my own tags. But lets look into other features of Photostructure later. Especially the Deduplication.

Installation seemed not as straightforward as planned. I still don't know why Photostructure didn't find my pictures on the UNC path, lets put it that way I didn't expect to find the settings in the system tray. :) But overall nice one.
