Dear Hudson Division Member,
Most of you have already seen the campaign material mailed to you by my opponent Ms. Jairam. It is the latest round of mudslinging coming from her and her clique. I have made a concerted effort to stay above the fray. I have intentionally not engaged her as I believe to do so would only embolden her.
It seems to me that she is frustrated by her lack of success in getting me to join her in the mud-pile. In desperation, she has taken on some of my supporters and myself in a most rude and abusive way, either directly or through her handful of supporters as intermediaries.
Her letter, an inappropriate use of thousands of dollars, is full of statements not based on fact but on less than half-truths, misinformation, and falsehoods.
Dirty politics is how my opponent and her supporters want to play, and it speaks volumes about her and how desperately she wants to win at any price. I will not lower myself to her level, ever! I’d rather lose than sell my soul to the devil
My approach to campaigning is markedly different. I talk about the ARRL, where it is today and where I believe it’s heading in the future. That is what the membership wants to hear. When I visit a club, a hamfest, a speaking engagement, I ask the audience what THEY would like to discuss. The audience always asks to talk about the League first. ALWAYS! They want to hear about what is happening at HQ and on the Board of Directors. We discuss the real issues, not the political rhetoric and manufactured issues that were generated to bash me, the League, and twist the truth to fulfill some agenda.
In my talks we’ve discussed critical issues like:
· The hiring of a new C.E.O. and why the last one left.
· Declining numbers of active hams and what we can do to retain licensees.
· Entry Level License Enhancement.
· Lifelong Learning Project Program.
· Implementation of the ARES Strategic Plan, ARES Connect, and the Volunteer Monitor Program.
· ARRL Legislative Agenda and the Parity Act.
· Executive and Senior Staff Attrition.
· Board Governance.
You all know me. You know of the work that I have done on behalf of the Hudson Division. I have been a League official for 15 years serving in multiple positions of responsibility culminating in my current position as Division Director. I’m very proud of my work as Director and what I’ve accomplished for the ARRL. You should be too.
I humbly ask for your vote. Please look for the ARRL Ballot in the mail which is on its way.
Thank you,
Mike Lisenco N2YBB
