All the third party add-ons, plugins and mods I use for FFXIV.

Last Updated: Patch 6.58

The program which most people use for parsing in FFXIV and several other MMOs. For an open source alternative consider using IINACT though configuring it won't be covered here.

Options

  • Main Table Encounters
    • General
      • Uncheck: Number of seconds to wait after the last combat action to begin a new encounter.
      • Uncheck: Number of seconds to wait after the last combat action to pause the encounter duration.

Plugins

  • FFXIV_ACT_Plugin

The plugin which allows parsing and FFLOGS to exist and requires updates for new game versions.

    • Parse Options
      • Disable Combine Pets with Owner (For MopiMopi Compatibility)
  • OverlayPlugin

Used by those who want a nice looking overlay for displaying parse information rather than the table within ACT itself.

    • General
      • Automatically Check for Updates
      • Automatically hide overlays when the game is in the background
      • Automatically hide overlays during cutscenes
    • MopiMopi (Modded to allow custom CSS)
      • Add MopiMopi preset in: OverlayPlugin.dll > New
      • Change URL to: https://natyusha.github.io/mopimopi/?HOST_PORT=ws://127.0.0.1/fake/
      • Config (Requires Jupiter Pro / Axis Latin Pro fonts)

This is only a partial setup as the rest of the settings cannot be easily shared (check the video walkthrough below for more info).

        • Copy text to clipboard and import in: MopiMopi > Settings (Top Right of Overlay Window) > Management Tools > Custom UI Data > Apply
        • Video walkthrough of all settings available here
    • OverlayPlugin.dll > Event Settings
      • End ACT encounter after wipe
    • Overlayplugin WSServer > Start
  • NuSound

Allows for custom audio output devices which are useful for keeping TTS call-outs off stream. Make sure to install Microsoft Speech Platform before attempting to use this.

  • Triggevent

A user friendly tool for triggers that is regularly updated to support all fights.

An example of my personal HUD configuration in a separate document.

ReShade can significantly improve FFXIV's visuals with a very low performance impact.

Important

Install the ReShade version with full add-on support for everything to work correctly.

  • Preset: Naty's Endwalker Reshade
    • Required Shaders:
      • From the ReShade Installer:
        • Standard effects
        • AstrayFX
        • Fubax
        • qUINT
      • External (Place in .\reshade-shaders\Shaders):
        • KeepUI_FFXIV (Stops the FFXIV UI from being affected by other shaders.)

A replacement for the terrible ingame FPS cap which can also allow for very slight gains in GCD speed.

Important

When using OBS Game Capture with FFXIV enable "Use Microsoft Detours API hooking" in RTSS > Setup > General > Injection Properties

  • Add: ffxiv_dx11.exe
    • Application detection level: Low
    • Stealth mode: OFF
    • Custom Direct3D support: OFF
    • Frameratelimit: 122 Depending on GCD

Not sure how you're able to get NuSound working. ACT throws up an error when I try to add the DLL. I've been told SlimDX_Xaudio2 from the libraries is the way to go, but it also has a somewhat more complicated install.

The GitHub link above doesn't include a compiled NuSound.dll so I'm going to assume you don't have it. The thread from the old ACT forums that had a working compiled version appears to be gone too so I have included a new link to a compiled NuSound.dll above.

Is it possible to target only specific UI elements with "Keep UI" in Reshade? If I do not use it, everything looks great except for the NPC/cutscene dialogue box, if I do use it, the dialogue box looks great but everything else is too blurry for me, f.e. the quest window.

I wish I could just use the 150% High Resolution UI setting instead of having to use 100% and then upscaling every HUD element, but with 150% things like nameplates are just way too big.

Can't really do anything about Keep UI but it does sound like you might need to enable FFXIV's High (WQHD/4K) UI under System Configuration / Graphics Settings / UI Resolution Settings to stop it from being extremely blurry when upscaled.

Pailiah commented Aug 23, 2023

Thansk for the quick response. I do have that setting enabled, but FFXIV's way of upscaling HUD is just old and somewhat dysfunctional, where for example the 120% upscale looks a lot worse than the 140% option on the dialogue text box.

Not to mention how even at regular 100%, 4k setting, the game UI benefits from Reshade.

I guess I'll just use a hotkey to enable KeepUI for story heavy content and disable it for regular use.

Thanks again.

Was able to install most of this today, but need help with a few things if you don't mind!

  1. The download link for Jupiter Pro and most of the Penumbra mods don't work anymore. All of them seem to have dead links, do you happen to have a new download link for the items below, so that I can finish the install:
  • Bibo+ Naty
  • Black TBSE Underwear
  • Black Edge Duty Action
  • Dark Deep Dungeon Revised
  • Minimal Target Ring
  1. The MopiMopi URL seems broken. I can't change the URL to https://natyusha.github.io/mopimopi/?HOST_PORT=ws://127.0.0.1/fake/ or it just breaks the overlay. Any fixes for this?

  2. The only other issue I had with installing/setting up was your Glamourer settings, I can't find "Config" or any of the settings you listed at all in the menus. They might have updated the plugin since you made this and not be applicable anymore. Not sure though.

  3. For the Simple Tweaks SlideCast Marker, is there anyway to make the marker be "on top" of the cast bar. I basically don't want to have the line disappear when the cast gets to the marker. I still want to be able to see the marker. Here is an example of what I mean: https://i.imgur.com/UOpr9rF.png

  4. Do you have any pictures of your full UI in various things (dungeons, trials, etc.). It would just be nice as a reference.

  5. Not really super-related to your UI, but can you explain the Frameratelimit for RivaTuner in regards to the Offset/Interval. I have literally no idea how to read that haha.

EDIT: Found one other issue with the Limit Break just stacking weird and overlapping https://i.imgur.com/OtMrogB.png

Was able to install most of this today, but need help with a few things if you don't mind!

  1. I just uploaded the most recent version of the doc since I neglected to put it on github since patch 6.51. All discord links for images/files etc. were made temporary outside of the discord app itself (at the end of 2023) so I replaced them all with mega links instead.
  2. The link works fine for me but you can always use the original mopimopi and live with the welcome message it shows.
  3. Glamourer had a big rework last year which should be accounted for now.
  4. Simply change the alpha (A:) on the SlideCast Ready Colour to 255 (or not 0 which is fully transparent)
  5. The most recent thing I have uploaded that shows my UI is here the only difference is probably the player character health bar being thicker there than the one specified in the doc.
  6. Not sure exactly what you mean but there is a link higher up in the comments talking about FPS a bit.
  7. You can change the spacing under "Limit Break Adjustments" in Simple Tweaks. Depending on the theme you use having the bars closer together can look better.

@natyusha Thanks so much! I will try all of this when I get home from work and report back if I have any issues. Regarding MopiMopi, this is a picture of what happens when I switch to your link: https://i.imgur.com/5TNUXFA.png

I can't interact with it or anything. The only thing I can do with it is move it around, but it doesn't do anything. It's basically a still image for me. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong.

I'm just going to the OverlayPlugin.dll in ACT, Then hitting New and selecting MopiMopi and naming it. Then after that I change the URL and it breaks and looks like the image above.

EDIT: Just a small note as well, the FlyText Colors "Darkness" was also called something else, and I wasn't sure what to do with the color for Positionals that are "Miss" since it only gave me a color option for hitting.

@natyusha So I was able to fix just about everything thanks to your advice (just need to go into an Alliance Raid or something to adjust the Limit Break) so thank you so much! I think I was having smoothbrain with MopiMopi as it was getting pretty late haha.

So to finish the install I ran into a few more issues (and also found a few minor errors in the document.) Hope this is the last time I have to ask you for troubleshooting advive, but here is what I'm having issues with:

  1. NuSound just errors out when trying to install. In ACT going to Plugin Listing>Browse>NuSound.dll (your link)>Add/Enable Plugin results in this: https://i.imgur.com/8k99OQ4.png

  2. High FPS Physics Fix (testing version) doesn't exist as a plugin (or is a custom repo with no link provided.)

  3. For Damage Info you removed the positionals being check marked (and the color choices) and also added a tip about the MultiHit plugin. However there is no mention of you using MultiHit, so wanted to see what to do with Damage Info and MultiHit. If you changed does the new plugin have any settings I should adjust?

  4. Above in the Penumbra>User Interrface>Material UI>Configuration>Job Icons - Contents [Vanilla] section you say [Vanilla], but that isn't an option. I assume you mean Black Edge Vanilla? It's either that, Default, or one of the 2 Glows options.

  5. Rotation Solver and vnavmesh were added to the custom repository at the bottom, but weren't mentioned in the plugins section above nor was any settings to tweak (or even that you had them enabled).

  6. Item Search has no settings to adjust, but you give a few settings. Guessing they just updated the plugin so wanted to point it out.

  7. V(ery) Island has a bullet instead of a quote for the description, not a big deal but still wanted to point it out haha.

Thanks again for all the help! I plan to use your UI for Dawntrail if you update it, so I'd be happy to let you know any issues I find and will happy test your install instructions! Lastly, do you happen to have a screenshot of your UI in the HUD Layout so I can see all your anchors and stuff? Might adjust might to be pretty similar (with personal tweaks.)

  1. You probably have to unblock the .dll file https://imgur.com/6zBBcYq
  2. It is only available as a testing version (even though it has been stable for over a year) so you have to enable "Get plugin testing builds" in Dalamud Settings > Experimental to be able to see it
  3. MultiHit is mainly used in conjunction with various combat animation mods (mainly papachin ones) but I change those around all the time and don't consider them worth mentioning. I did think it was worth warning people of possible crashing if they use it with Damage Info though.
  4. Changed.
  5. Not sure why you mentioned those two plugins in particular but the custom repos required for the plugins that I do use add almost 50 additional plugins to Dalamud's base Plugin Installer list (and that number is likely to increase over time).
  6. Item Search's settings appear when you click a gear icon like several other plugins so I added a note on that.
  7. Changed

Here is a quick video of how my HUD is setup: MEGA Video

Generally, I just use hotkeys or the Wotsit plugin to do everything and keep the majority of the HUD hidden. Hopefully this can give you some inspiration for your HUD though.

  1. Didn't have that option so I re-downloaded it and then I had the Unblock box available, so I checked the box and tried again and received the same error in the screenshot above.
  2. That makes perfect sense. So are you still using these settings/colors or do you have the disable now?
  3. Ahh, my mistake. I just looked very briefly at the veyn and croizat repository and only read the top line and didn't realize it was multiple plugins in each one. So I guess my question is for a lot of the Custom Repositories you don't mention even using most of the plugins that they make available so I'm a bit confused why some of them are included. I just went through every repository and asterisked just the plugins you mention to enable. Are the rest suppose to be off?

Not sure what's going on with your NuSound.dll but whenever people tell me they have issues installing ACT plugins it is some sort of permission issue. Can't really do anything else to help other than suggesting that you run ACT as Admin and to look for people who had similar troubles. As for the positional indicators in Damage Info, I only used them briefly when they were first added but have disabled them since (easy to tell when missing anyways).

Lastly, I don't control what plugins are listed where I just link to the "official" 3rd party repository for each plugin I do use which isn't available in the main Dalamud plugins list. Each repository can contain as many plugins as the person who maintains it decides to create. So no I don't install every single plugin in my plugins list or else I would have hundreds of plugins installed. See below for even more 3rd party plugins:

https://xivplugins.com/dalamud-plugins / https://xivplugins.com/dalamud-repos

Edit: I added a link to the Microsoft Speech Platform - Runtime Languages (Version 11) voices incase people don't have any Speech Platform voices Installed to use with NuSound

Edit2: I can confirm that you need the base Microsoft Speech Platform - Runtime (Version 11) for NuSound to work.

I'll try installing the Speech Platform when I get home and see if that resolves it. If not, I'll just try troubleshooting it myself.

Anyway I could get your .DAT Files? (Mostly the macro one I'm interested in.) Would be a lot easier than trying to do all the Macros myself. I've been able to get some of them done, but some of them are pretty challenging to find with google since they are more niche (a lot of the cross bar ones).

I guess the last thing I really have to ask is if there is anyway for you to take a screenshot/video/whatever for all of your Mopi settings, since your stated your Config only covers part of it. I've been able to get REALLY close to your UI (with a few adjustments for personal preference) and would love to be able to finish haha.

I also messaged you on Discord, regarding your .DAT files if it would be easier to talk on there.

I've been able to get quite a few of the macros working, but there is very little resources online on how to do a lot of the stuff lol.

Either way thanks again and I love it! Has really made me want to play the game since I have a "working" UI now!

I don't plan on sharing any .dat files or checking discord but I did add some new links which should help:

  1. A video walkthrough of the MopiMopi settings
  2. A document with more info about my HUD setup (including macros)

There are also some more options for Material UI (nameplate icons / macro icons / duty action)

@natyusha Not really sure what you meant by "There are also some more options for Material UI." I saw you added "Black Edge Duty Action" so I went ahead and Enabled that, but I don't see Nameplate or Macro Icons in the list.

I know you probably don't care that much but here is a video my progress and where I've landed with the UI (still need to fix a few macros, but it's 95% done.)

It's obviously not identical to yours, because I had to adjust a few things for personal preference and my resolution. However, it's kind of sparked a new joy in the game since, as a previous WoW player, I've always had an issue with how limited/restricted the FFXIV felt. So I wanted to thank you again. If you end up having a Ko-Fi/BuyMeACoffee/Etc. Please post in in somewhere above and I'd love to give you a small thanks!

Several options were added to material UI yesterday in this commit. I mentioned some of them and added them to the Material UI/Penumbra sections of the doc. If you got the update already and the options aren't showing, you might have to Reload Mods in Material UI then Rediscover Mods in Penumbra.

Looks like your HUD is coming along nicely and should be fully functional even when plugins don't work after major patches. I've noticed several WoW players in the past several years who can't even play the game at all when plugins aren't available since they modded their HUD to the point where it doesn't even look like it is FFXIV any more.

As for a Ko-Fi type thing, I have a paypal.me which is just my username (added a link to my github profile). I'm not one to pass up any contributions to the coffee fund so I do appreciate anything you happen to send.

Hi, Idk if u already mention this before but is there anyway to make obs capture just the base game with reshade ? I remember back then with gshade, the shaders and ontop ui plugins doesnt show on game capture (example like EngageTimer). thx

I do suggest skipping pixel perfect and using avarice instead, much better.
And skipping ACT & using IINACT instead.

Hi, first of all thanks for your work listing all of this.

Everything I'm interested in works as intended on my end ; except Browsingway and OBS

For some reason, even when using Game capture for FFXIV, the ACT overlay I set up using browsingway does not show on my recording.

Obviously if I check "Capture third-party overlays" it shows up, but I think the goal here is to make the game render the overlay? So that others wouldn't show up on stream/recordings?

Did you do something specific with your setup or is this a me issue? Thanks again.

From my experience and talking to some others it seems like a complete crapshoot to get this working properly (depending on the setup). If I figure out a way to get it to work like that 100% of the time I'll post it.

IINACT is definitely a viable alternative to ACT. Personally, I have too much stuff setup in Triggernometry / Triggevent (plus the different audio outputs from NuSound) to switch to it. As for Avarice, I just don't see the need for range (can look at the red x icon on skills) or positional indicators and would never want a huge overlay covering targets. It certainly has more features for those that want them though the 45 degree slices are already covered in a more minimal way with my Minimal Target Ring.

For some reason, even when using Game capture for FFXIV, the ACT overlay I set up using browsingway does not show on my recording.

With my setup game capture picks up everything from Dalamud no matter what I do which is why I say to use Browsingway. If this isn't the case for you adding the overlay url directly into OBS through a browser source should be a viable alternative.
