Dear Recruiter,

I'm going to be frank.

I don't have the time or energy to have a phone chat with every recruiter who contacts me. If you want to know about me, such as if I'm worth pursuing, I can answer any questions you have via email, but I would prefer to reserve time spent talking on the phone to the employees of the prospective company.

That said, here's the answer to most questions:

Here is what I want to know:

  • Do the employees hang out together outside the office?

  • Ya. All the time. Especially over in Oakland on First Fridays after card games here.

  • Is anyone active in Open Source communities?

  • Our founder, Jon Gifford, is huge in Elastic Search. Our CTO in Apache Kafka, and tonight we're hosting a PyLadies meetup.

  • Does the company have any Open Source projects?
