A game played by a bunch of MCYTs. I wanted to draft up a written specification for the game so that I can implement it myself.
See, for example, Grian. (His videos should have links to all the other members. I just wanted this "preamble" to be brief. Sorry.)
Note that this may contain spoilers, because the rules of the game get revealed over time during the game. Also, I'm pretty much only watching Grian's POV, so there's that.
- Small map
- Randomized between 2 and 6 lives at the start.
- Name colors depend on # of lives:
Number of lives | Name color |
---|---|
4+ | Dark Green |
3 | Lime Green |
2 | Yellow |
Last Life (1) | Red |
- Red names have friendships & ties broken & become hostile.
- However, According to Grian, red names have a bit of protection.
They can't be killed unless they instigate conflict.
- Keep in mind that I haven't watched 3rd Life, so I'm unaware of any imported rules.
- However, According to Grian, red names have a bit of protection.
They can't be killed unless they instigate conflict.
- Players can give lives to each other.
- Is there a restriction on giving lives to red names? It looks like none of the Southern crew are willing to give any lives. Maybe that's just their decision, though. I also imagine red names can't ask for donations.
- At the beginning of every session, one or more boogeymen are secretly chosen,
with the following rules:
- The number of boogeymen increases with time?
- I believe this is the case, since Grian, E01 only had 1 kill iirc?
- A boogeyman must kill a green or yellow name by direct action
to be cured of the curse, before the end of the session. If he fails,
next session he will become a red name (i.e., be on his last life).
All loyalties and friendships are removed while he's the boogeyman.
- The definition of "direct action" is unclear, since it seems that Mumbo thinks End Crystals count as "direct action," despite knowing from Hermitcraft that they don't count as a player kill in-game.
- I'm guessing it's randomly chosen between yellow and green names. Also, I'm unsure how it works with only 1 yellow/green name.
- The number of boogeymen increases with time?
- Green and yellow players cannot kill others unless in self defense,
or if the one being killed is a boogeyman.
- What if someone starts stealing your stuff? Are you allowed to kill them? The answer could go either way, at least according to Mumbo.
- "Loyalties and friendships" are simply a roleplay restriction. There's no actual way to technologically implement it.
- Crafting recipes are changed.
- TNT is changed by replacing all corner gunpowder with paper.
- Am I just not paying attention, or does the world come with an enchanting table? Also, it seems from Grian, E02, that enchanting tables aren't craftable? (I haven't watched 3rd Life. Maybe I should look at it.)
- Last player standing wins.
