This is pretty cool But I feel like energy is the same thing as electricity. Just sayin

So I am writing a book and it has elemental powers and such and the main character has light powers, so yeah.

That's cool but i thought about a wind ability, basically you create pressure by creating air on your hand and you can punch really hard, this ability was inspired by rasengan and rasen-shuriken from naruto

I'm creating a magic system based around 9 core elements: Light, Shadow, Wind, Water, Earth, Fire, Spirit, Enhancement and Quantum.
the powers can combine to form other elements (Light + Wind = Lightning, etc), but I've gotten stumped. what could Enhancement merge with to form? I'm looking for Quantum and Fire combinations.

edit I've thought of a Quantum + Enhancement so I just need a Fire + Enhancement

This has helped me write my new book: Tiger lily. Good job!

I think Lightning and Ice are the same as Light and Water, because they can't exist without their base.

And also plant/grass also is the same as Earth.

Six years ago, I created this list in order to avoid excessive navigation, but after taking a look at SuperPowerWiki, my mind is blown — it is huge (“10,000 pages and climbing”). I wanted to update this markdown doc, but there is subcategory after subcategory. Its size transcends markdown, I think. A web page seems more suitable now.

Also, I basically agree with all of the comments above. For example, moving 'electricity' category into 'energy' category or something. If a superpower can illuminate a lightbulb, it's energy — seems like a no-brainer. But then, in anime, energy can also have an etheric quality. Does electricity come from the ether?

And I'm glad it helped people.

I'm writing about a cop in the year 2062 in a standoff with a winged cryptid, so he is going to need superpower support, or a helper.

@GaslightGirlBoss I found that ability in List_of_Kinetic_Abilities. All the kinetic abilities one could ever need in a lifetime.

@nick3499 I just thought I'd throw that in because I saw some people asking in the comments, but this has been so incredibly useful for me. I'm writing a book with an elemental-based magic system and finding all the names saved me so much time! (also I found a page on Alcokinesis, it's impressive how big the superpower wiki is!)

I started a new web page where I will try to list the Main Categories along with their subcategories. It is a work in progress. Just think of me as Archetype: Open Sourcer

UPDATE:
While messing around with different ways to conform/expand this list to the now colossal Superpowers Wiki, I came across their Local Sitemap page which has category search in the pulldown menu, and which may be a better way of doing so—as opposed to a single-page list gist with thousands of items.

@GaslightGirlBoss - I came up with something for listing all those Superpower Wiki links. then click on Archetypes to see all of the Archetype titles in alphabetical order. I repurposed my github.io index page.

@digital-marketing-engineer

These are good ideas for fantasy game or novel.
