so what does it mean "root html;" ? Does it mean there exists a directory name html?

Shouldn't the server{} blocks be inside sites-availables? then make a symlink to folder sites-enabled? This seems quick but not as efficient as the conventional method

@smelike yes. there is a directory named html located in /var/www which is the root of the whole thing

how the configuration will know that /var/www will be the root of the whole thing ?

May I ask what's the default event type nginx set to? epoll?
