Computer Programmer II

City and County of Honolulu February 2018 - Present

  • Developed web applications using Angular 5/6 and Material for the Hawaii Department of Motor Vehicles
  • Wrote part of Node-based RESTful API for the applications
  • Collaborated with teammates and clients to transition COBOL-based mainframe applications to JavaScript web applications
  • Introduced best practices that comply with current ADA standards

DevLeague January 2018 - Present

  • Taught aspiring developers and curious individuals the fundamentals of JavaScript, Python, and frontend development
  • Lead lectures, faciilitated discussions, and provided one-one guidance in person and through online communication

Projects

DevvyCho

  • Designed a smart Bot using Wit.ai for helping students learn Javascript
  • Built skeleton using Node, Express, React-Redux, and Postgres
  • Served as both developer and tech lead for entire project

HotBotato

  • Created a Discord mini-game based on Hot Potato for the 2018 Twitch Hackalong
  • Objective is to pass the Botato to another user before it “detonates”
  • Designed using Node, ES6, and the Discord Bot API

Hungry Bat

  • Built a mini-game for Global Game Jam 2018 that won a community award (Most Creative)
  • Used Phaser.js as the game engine
  • Collborated with developers, designers, and sound engineers to put the game together
