The Dutch have a rich naval history. The chart shows Dutch shipping routes from 1750 until 1800. It clearly illustrates the infamous triangular trade routes and the VOC passages to the East.

Run prepare_data.R to extract Dutch shipping routes from the data set:
- Read CLIWOC15.csv
- Select log entries where the nationality is Dutch
- Create a subset with geographical positions, stored in columns

- Round to precision 1 and select unique values to compress the data set. Note that this implies a loss in precision
- Rename the columns to
lat
andlon
for easier processing in javascript - Write the data set to
shipping_routes.csv
