Keep in mind that if you're not careful when selecting the settings, not only will it remove the preinstalled TikTok app but also the default photo viewer. Other than that works great.

Fix Explorer and Right Click Menus

  • Disable Windows 11 context menu
  • Disable "Recommended" in Start menu
  • Disable Office hotkeys

Better Search

Voidtools Everything & Everything Toolbar

You can use Windows search in the Start menu, so having a separate icon for that doesn't make sense. But you can put Everything Search there, and search quickly through every single file on your drive, which is a cool option.

PowerToys

Microsoft PowerToys

Microsoft actively develops a set of tools called PowerToys. They're great!

Best features:

  • Map Ctrl + Shift + T to an OCR tool and copy any text to clipboard
  • Map Ctrl + Shift + C to a color picker tool and copy the color HEX code to clipboard
  • Power Rename - rename multiple files at once
  • Image Resizer - resize multiple images at once
  • File Explorer add-ons (better thumbnails etc)
  • PowerToys Awake - prevent the computer from going to sleep

Windows put their weather / ad app in the tray, which is rubbish, but it is actually cool to have a weather there (without ads this time).
