TronXY X1 - Simplify3D generic settings for PLA
Extruder:
- Nozzle Diameter: 0.40mm
- Extrusion Multiplier: 1.00 (can fiddle with this: if you get holes in top layers - increase, if you get blobs and the head digs into the current layer - decrease)
- Extrusion Width: auto
- Retraction:
- Distance: 4-6mm or less even
- Extra Restart Dist: 0.5
- Vertical Lift: 0
- Retraction Speed: 3000
- Coast at end - enabled - 0.1mm
Layer:
- Primary layer height: 0.1-0.3 based on quality, usually 0.2 is fine for most stuff
- Top solid layers: 2 or more depending on the quality you want, if you have low infill settings you need 3 to prevent holes on the sides, can use 1 if you don't care about aspect
- Bottom solid layers: 2 is ok for most stuff
- Outline Perimeter Shells: 1 is ok for most stuff, use moreif you want more strength or if you use transparent PLA and you see the infil through it
- First layer Height: 90% (fiddle with it if your print doesn't stick properly, same for rest)
- First Layer Width: 120%
- First Layer Speed: 50%
Additions:
- Skirt: 1 layer, 0 or 2mm offset, 4-5-6 outlines. Useful to get the plastic flowing before the actual print or if you have small parts that don't stick (then offset = 0)
- Raft: use only in case it really really doesn't want to stick to the bed
Infill:
- Percentage is whatever you want/need: 0-100%
- Outline Overlap: 20%, use more if the infill doesn't stick to the sides properly (pretty rare)
- Min infill length: 5mm
Support:
- percentage: 40% is what I use, but only turn it on when needed
Temperature:
- use whatever temperature your material recommends, I usually stick to 200 for PLA
- for first layer you CAN use a bit more to help it stick, depends
Cooling:
- Layer 1 - a bit lower to help with sticking to the bed
- Layer 2 - 100%
Other:
- Default print speed: 3600 is what I use most days, if you want to slow it down for more accuracy - 1800
- Outline Underspeed: 90%
- Support Infil: 80% - you can fiddle with this, you can even go 100% on some models/filaments
- X/Y Axis movement speed: 5000
- Z Axis movement speed: 900
- filament diameter: for better accuracy measure your filament in like 10 places with calipers and average it out (or 1.75mm by default)
