  1. What other next steps do you want to take to make these two components stronger?

For my resume and cover letter, it has been a lot of refining. Running it through the compiler to come up with more valued keywords and powerful phrases. Changing out the skills on my tech stack to technologies that I feel really comfortable with and researching into new technologies that are valued in the industry right now, such as Typescript and React Hooks. For cover letter, really taking the time to read through and understand the company that I am applying for. Really taking the time to dig into who the company is, their values, their working style, their reviews, how I could having a positive impact with that company and how that company will find that I am a good fit for their position. Structuring the verbiage of the cover letter to reflect a more personal connection while letting my resume be more of the professional connection.

  1. Either explore the company you wrote a cover letter for or find a new company to explore this week; Go to their company LinkedIn page and start to explore the employees. Who are a couple people you could reach out to? Why?

Jenna Franze - She has "We're Hiring!" on her LinkedIn profile and would probably be a person that knows more about the hiring process and what kind of people they are looking for inside of the company.

Bill Weisberger - Have a shared connection with someone else in my LinkedIn Profile. More of a warm connection as opposed to a cold one. Bill is a software enginner and would be a good connection from a technical perspective.

Sabrina Sandalo - Same reason as Jenna Franze. She has specific positions listed on her LinkedIn profile that they are specifically hiring for and think it would be good to build a connection with her as a person to get a good feel for their culture.

  1. Who have you decided to reach out to? Why that person? How will you contact them? What do you want to talk to them about? How will you follow up?

I would reach out to Bill Weisberger and Sabrina Sandalo. One on each side of the spectrum being more technical and more people/culture oriented. For Bill, I would focus on what their main tech stacks are, sharing some mutual interesting in those technologies and the life of an engineer at Livongo. With Sabrina, I would ask more about the mission of the company and the over culture towards achieving that mission. Livongo is a larger company that most small tech companies that I have research and want to see the dynamic between the front of the company, mostly interacting with client, with the back of the company, the development of the software.

  1. Reach out to your contact THIS WEEK. If possible, reach out to more than one person OR find a meetup to attend also. What happened? What did you learn about the company? What other next steps should you take for pursuing this company? Be sure to update this in Huntr.

I did not reach out to those two contacts at the company. A lot of my time has been spent making sure that I had my personal crisis back under control that happened at the beginning of October to ensure I could still live well while attending Turing and getting the most out of it. That will definitely be my plan reaching out to them in the upcoming week or 2, depending on how busy the last 2 weeks of Mod 3 are.

I hope things are better personally for you. Great outreach and networking! Looks like you have solid leads really joining your network (the tech community).
