Food I recommend checking out if you're visiting Phoenix.

Some truly great food in Phoenix:

Pizzeria Bianco (http://www.pizzeriabianco.com/) - Should make anyone's shortlist for best pizza in the US. This place lead the resurgence of woodfired pizza made with care. It's a pain to get into during normal dinner times, a great choice if you're going early, or have time to hang at the bar next door waiting for a table. iirc they take reservations only for parties of 6 or more. Check out the fennel sausage pizza, and if you're looking for something particularly decadent the prosciutto wrapped fontina appetizer. There are several excellent sister restaurants around town too, Trotto if you're looking for upscale Italian, and Pane Bianco to grab a salad/sandwich.

Tacos Chiwas (http://www.tacoschiwas.com) - Maybe the best Mexican food in a city full of good Mexican food, not a lot else to say. Low prices, counter service, can get packed inside, but usually room to sit outside. Everything here is good, getting hungry just thinking about it. Has a slightly more upscale sister restaurant Rolands that is a collaboration with Chris Bianco from above^.

Noble Eatery (http://nobleeatery.com/) - These folks are serious about bread. The best thing here are their toasts, the burrata is to die for, and the avocado is plentiful enough to make a millennial weep.

Guanaquito (https://www.restauranteelguanaquito.com/) - Absolutely killer Salvadoran food. The decor may be lacking, but the food is legit. If you're new to Salvadoran food, go for the Orden de Pupsas (Revueltas), and a side of crema.

Phoenix Public Market Cafe (https://www.phxpublicmarket.com/) - Great food, especially the rotisserie chicken. Also has good coffee, breakfast, and room to hang out and work.

Places to grab a good beer:

Angels Trumpet - Huge selection!

Federal Pizza - Home made wine coolers, good beers, $5 32oz pitchers before 5pm.

First Draft Book Bar - Good beer and a good place to hang out and talk or work from.

Cobra Arcade Bar - Good selection of arcade games, and the beer isn't bad either.

Cider Corps - It's a bit out in the burbs, but the light rail stops nearby. If you're into cider, it's worth the trip!
