1) What is your greatest strength and how do you know?

I believe my greatest strength is my ability to make unbiased decisions due to my drive for wisdom and knowledge. According to the Pairin survey, I am driven by the desire to gain knowledge. Because of this, I feel that I am good at making unbiased decisions quickly and rationally. I believe that my calm head is my greatest strength.

2) How do you work best?

Although I enjoy collaboration and find it necessary for some things, I often work best when I am alone and can research my questions on my own. I find that by doing my own resesarch, I obtain a better understanding of the topic. I highly value good teachers and mentors, but generally choose to work on my own if given the option.

3) What is your greatest area of improvement?

I think I need to work on paying more attention to myself, and increasing my emotional intelligence when it comes to self evaluation. I often get stuck in my own head and disconnect from the rest of myself, leading to poor habits. Increasing my awareness of my own head-space and emotional status will help me to take care of myself, and therefore my work.

4) How do you hope to maximize your strengths for your new career in software development?

I hope to use my curious tendencies to drive myself forward throughout my time at Turing. Diving into the technical aspects of the program and teaching myself things on the side will lead to me becoming the best programmer I can be. I also think that my strength of remaining rational in difficult situations will help me stay calm and come up with a game plan with I fail at something.

5) How might knowing about your strengths and working preferences benefit you as a software developer?

Knowing my strengths as well as my boundaries will allow me to be a better team member, co-worker, and employee. If I can point out my own flaws as well as my own strengths, I will be able to function more efficiently within a job setting. I believe it is important for people to do some self reflection in order to best serve themselves as well as their peers. I hope to be the best software developer I can be by using my strengths as a foundation for my drive to learn as well as working on my weaknesses to be a more rounded person.
