DTR for FE mod 2 paired project
# DTR: Define the Relationship
One teammate should copy and paste the *raw* markdown into a gist of your own.
### Guiding Questions to Define The Relationship:
* What is your collaboration style? How do you feel about pair programming vs. divide-and-conquer approaches?
* How do you communicate best? How do you appreciate receiving communication from others?
* How would you describe your work style?
* What are each of our strengths? How can our strengths complement each other?
* What’s gone well or poorly in your previous projects?
* How will we set direction and make decisions as a team?
* What do you need (resources, environment, communication) to do your best work?
* What scheduling restraints do you have? What are your scheduling preferences?
* What is your style for giving feedback? Does anything ever hold you back from giving feedback?
* What do you identify as being your biggest strength(s) technically? Where do you feel you could use improvement in your technical skills? How can our team help support you in improving these skills?
* How do you want the group to solve problems when members run into issues with features of the project?
* How do you know if a project is successful? How can we achieve that as a group?
* How will we recognize each other's successes and celebrate them?
Any additional questions that you would like to add:
### Template for DTR Memo
Project: 2001 Mod 2 Pair Project
Group Member Names: Megan Huggins and Olivia Webster
Goals and Expectations for the Project (What does each group member hope to get out of this project? What do we want to achieve as a team? How will we know that we're successful? YES, you can still fully answer this question without knowing exactly what you're going to build.):
Megan: Having a better understanding of creating classes and objects and get testing down.
Learning how to do an entire project doing remote pairing. Grow communication skills it takes to do remote paired project.
Getting through this project with both people contributing pretty equally and having good open communication and as stress free an
environment as possible.
Olivia:
hammering home a lot of the logic it will take to complete the methods on this project. If we can both have a pretty equal number of commits
and both can explain every aspect of the project. And if we are both able to have good, open, regular communication.
Team strengths & collaboration styles (consider discussing your Pairin qualities here):
Megan is good with being patient with a struggling partner. Good at slowing down and explaining things until the partner understands.
Resilient and will always follow through on what she says she's going to do.
Megan has a flexible collaboration style. But prefers to do the work together.
Olivia is also patient and pretty flexible and easy going. I am very open to feedback about what i could be doing more or less of.
Has a pretty good understanding of how to set up the data model at this point and how to set up testing.
How we can use our strengths to overcome obstacles: We are both empathetic to the needs of others and willing to adapt and be flexible. Olivia has Repeater privilege.
We are patient and will make eachother feel comfortable admitting if we don't understand something.
What do you need to look out for, in terms of strengths/working styles coming into conflict?
Megan wants to lean in to being okay with the struggle and taking more initiative.
Olivia wants to make sure she is flexible. She's already done some of this project with refactor tractor, and wants to make sure
she's open to doing things different ways.
Schedule Expectations (When are we available to work together and individually? What constraints do we have?):
Neither of us have any conflicts at the moment as we are both trapped in our homes for the foreseable future.
If something comes up we will communicate about that within a reasonable timeframe.
What is the one hour/day that each teammate has on their calendar for personal study/practice time?
Olivia: lunch time
Megan: morning before class
Abilities & Growth Expectations (Technical strengths and areas for desired improvement):
Olivia: wants to keep growing with the logic of solving methods.
Megan: cultivating and strengthening logic especially when it comes to setting up initial structures.
Expectations for giving and receiving feedback:
Olivia: Kind but direct and honest
Megan: ditto. Needs to work on not taking things personally and embracing the struggle.
