# DTR: Define the Relationship
One teammate should copy and paste the *raw* markdown into a gist of your own.
### Guiding Questions to Define The Relationship:
* What is your collaboration style? How do you feel about pair programming vs. divide-and-conquer approaches?
* How do you communicate best? How do you appreciate receiving communication from others?
* How would you describe your work style?
* What are each of our strengths? How can our strengths complement each other?
* What’s gone well or poorly in your previous projects?
* How will we set direction and make decisions as a team?
* What do you need (resources, environment, communication) to do your best work?
* What scheduling restraints do you have? What are your scheduling preferences?
* What is your style for giving feedback? Does anything ever hold you back from giving feedback?
* What do you identify as being your biggest strength(s) technically? Where do you feel you could use improvement in your technical skills? How can our team help support you in improving these skills?
* How do you want the group to solve problems when members run into issues with features of the project?
* How do you know if a project is successful? How can we achieve that as a group?
* How will we recognize each other's successes and celebrate them?
Any additional questions that you would like to add:
### Template for DTR Memo
Project: 2001 Mod 3 Group Project
Group Member Names: Megan Huggins, Olivia Webster, Kimala Cochran, Trond Makonese
Goals and Expectations for the Project (What does each group member hope to get out of this project? What do we want to achieve as a team? How will we know that we're successful? YES, you can still fully answer this question without knowing exactly what you're going to build.):
Megan: A good understand of Vue and to overall be able to successfully learn as a group.
Olivia: I want to get more familiar with working with more complex apis, also good understanding of Vue
Kimala: Excited to learn a new framework and implement it. more practice with testing. Will know if we're successful if we
don't all hate eachother at the end.
Trond: Excited to learn Vue for professional reasons. We will know we are successful if we feel happy with our work and we
all feel as if we've learned something.
Team strengths & collaboration styles (consider discussing your Pairin qualities here):
Megan: is good with being patient with a struggling partner. Good at slowing down and explaining things until the partner understands.
Resilient and will always follow through on what she says she's going to do.
Megan has a flexible collaboration style. good with CSS! picking up new things and asking for help when needed.
Olivia: is also patient and pretty flexible and easy going. I am very open to feedback about what i could be doing more or less of.
Flexible collaboration, but I want to make sure we are all hands on with new technology so that we can all learn. Patient.
Kimala: also patient and flexible. driven. pretty good with feedback, not the best with giving it, but she can take it. wants everyone
to be able to get familiar with new technology
Trond: Cool under pressure, can work well in these situations. Do well with pairing and can tacke more advanced concepts alone but also be
able to explain things well to the group.
How we can use our strengths to overcome obstacles:
we're all pretty patient and we have eachother to rely on for questions. Reliable. No overpowering personalities, all pretty flexible
and collaborative.
What do you need to look out for, in terms of strengths/working styles coming into conflict?
Balancing the needs and schedules and learning styles of 4 people.
Megan: wants to try to not get frustrated with herself. remember that we are all still learning
Schedule Expectations (When are we available to work together and individually? What constraints do we have?):
Olivia: on east coast time, doesnt want to work too late into the evening. would like to have a 930pm est cut off unless we are
down to the wire.
Trond, olivia, kim and and megan all would like to take part of a day this weekend.
What is the one hour/day that each teammate has on their calendar for personal study/practice time?
Kim: tries to work around project time
Olivia: ditto
Abilities & Growth Expectations (Technical strengths and areas for desired improvement):
Megan: the goal is to understand and be able to implement vue
wants to get better with fetching.
Trond: wants to get better with testing esp sad paths. wants the challenge of looking at a framework and learning it on his own.
Olivia: also wants to experience learning new framework on her own. I feel somewhat solid on testing
Kimala: wants to get practice in on testing. Also wants the challenge of picking up a brand new framework to test her skills
as a future professional dev.
Expectations for giving and receiving feedback:
Olivia: Kind but direct and honest
Megan: ditto. Needs to work on not taking things personally and embracing the struggle.
Trond: Be honest and open
Kimala: doesn't want to find out after the fact that people in the group had any issues, so just be honest.
