New from Gist
### Based on: https://gist.github.com/b0644f5ed1d94bd32805
### This version strips unicode characters from the downloaded script
### to work around the currently limited unicode support of the editor
### module.
# This script downloads and opens a Gist from a URL in the clipboard.
# It's meant to be put in the editor's actions menu.
#
# It works with "raw" and "web" gist URLs, but not with gists that
# contain multiple files or non-Python files.
#
# If a file already exists, a dialog is shown that asks whether the
# new file should be renamed automatically.

The Script doesn't work for me. :-(

Looks like the script expect the URL in the format gist.github.com/$GISTID (line 41) but the URLs on GitHub Gist have the format gist.github.com/$USERID/$GISTID.

Your old script worked with this format.

Why did you change it?

Don't use the URL in the browser, use the clone URL (in the sidebar on the right).

so for this gist, that url is https://gist.github.com/4076735.git
