How to Diff XLSX Files in Git

  • Install some software to convert xlsx files into a more diff friendly format such as csv.
    • sudo easy_install xlsx2csv
  • Define a driver for xlsx files that points to the conversion software.
    • vim ~/.gitconfig
    • Add the following
[diff "xlsx"]
