These are mods that I consider essential or are necessary for my recommended mods.

Better Artisan Good Icons
Changes the look of the artisan good icons. -
Content Patcher
Essential for using about half of the mods for Stardew Valley. -
Custom Crafting Stations
Allows users to create dedicated crafting stations to help reduce clutter in the fridge. Recommended pack to use is CCS Kitchen Station Set -
Json Assets
A framework for adding new crops/items/clothing. Requires packs similar to Content Patcher. UnderRequirements

Producer Framework Mod
Similar to JA but a framework for adding machines/produce to machines. You can view mods that require PFM under theRequirements
tab as well. -
Shop Tile Framework
Allows for the ability to make custom shops easier.
These are some of the mods I recommend to help change up your game experience.

Canon-Friendly Dialogue Expansion
Adds lore friendly dialogue to every NPC. Applies to festivals as well. -
Casks Everywhere
I use this to decorate with casks on my farm but allows you to place and use casks anywhere. -
Cat Gifts
Your cat will bring you little gifts! Worth installing just for the cute factor of your cat bringing you a present. -
Customize Exterior
Let's you choose the exterior option for specific farm buildings letting you easily mix and match packs. -
Experience Bars
Shows you how close you are to leveling up a skill. -
Flower Valley
One of the few recolor mods that also alters the town building exteriors. -
Generic Mod Config Menu
Allows you to edit a mods config.json within the game. Works natively with Content Patcher. -
Hybrid Crop Engine
Let's players get hybrid crops. Currently only has a handful of packs designed to work with it. -
Khadija's Recipe Shop
Adds a merchant to sell some items that Gus previously sold. Useful for helping to clean up shop menus so they're not only filled with recipes. -
Project Populate Json Assets Collection
Many different types of mods are included in this such as: recipes, crops, fruit trees, and machines. Pairs well with other mods such as Colored Seeds for Crop Mods and Produce to Sapling & Better Quality Increased Seeds. -
Seasonal Villager Outfits
Adds a more dynamic feel to SDV by adding weather/season/event clothing to the NPCs. -
Surfing Festival
Adds a festival during the summer that you can participate in. Includes a surfing minigame. -
Tailor Mouse
Adds a merchant to sell Json Assets clothing rather than having to spawn in it. See mod page for a full list of clothing packs it supports. -
Vintage Interface
A interface recolor mod. Pairs well with Flower Valley, Yellog Flower Dialogue UI, and Transparent Dialogue Box -
Winter Grass
Allows grass to grow in winter. Really good if you don't want to replant grass every spring and keep a nice farm aesthetic.
